Commencement group portrait. With individuals named from Left to Right: valedictorian student, Honorary doctorate recipient Jack Alder. Alder was a founding member, in 1983, of the Salt Lake Community College Foundation providing scholarships to students needing financial assistance and served as a SLCC trustee until his death. Honorary doctorate recipient Patricia Davis. She is an actress, a director, producer and playwright. She directed and produced 12 yearly productions at The Heritage School in Provo, Utah, where she was recently honored by having the 700-seat, multi-million dollar theatre, the Pat Davis Theatre, named after her. Senator Bob Bennett (In office January 3, 1993 - January 3, 2011), Thomas S. Monson who was First Counselor in the First Presidency (March 12, 1995 - January 27, 2008) and Frank W. Budd (Salt Lake Community College President 1991-2000).
